In case you’ve been ignoring the “number of days left” notification near the Arcade tab, season 8 of Overwatch’s Competitive Play will be ending on February 25th, 4 PM PT. Now is as good a time as any to finish those placement matches (you know who you are).

After season 8 ends, there will be an interval of three days before season 9 starts, which will be on February 28th at 4 PM PT. Those who participated in season 8 will receive a unique spray and player icon. Top 500 players will receive an additional icon along with an animated spray.

Depending on where you placed during the season, you’ll receive varying amounts of Competitive Points – these can range from 65 CP for Bronze tier (1-1499 SR) to 1750 CP for Grandmaster tier (4000-5000 SR). Based on your maximum Skill Rating at the end of the season, you’ll receive Competitive Points so don’t worry if you feel out of Platinum into Gold at some point.

Changes that will be coming in the next season have yet to be revealed so stay tuned for more information.
