Overwatch Competitive Play Still Releasing in June

"Apologies again for the error."

Overwatch

Yesterday, the official Overwatch Twitter noted that Competitive Play, the proverbial ranked mode for the hero shooter, was going to be out in mid to late July. It had earlier been announced that the update would be live in June but it seems some delay had taken place.

As it turns out, there was an error in the date and it’s actually coming out in June. For real, we promise. A new tweet stated, “Sorry about this! Competitive Play will be coming later in *JUNE*, not July. Apologies again for the error.”

Competitive Play was introduced in the closed beta but subsequently removed in the open beta and at launch. The development team was working to incorporate fan feedback on Competitive Play and promised some significant changes when it finally released. Available to those at level 25, Competitive Play carries its own unique set of rewards though it’s also meant for the serious players.

Stay tuned for more information on the launch of Competitive Play and let us know below how you’ve been finding Overwatch thus far.
