Overwatch PTR Only Tested By 0.26 Percent of Players

Director Jeff Kaplan urges PC players to try out changes more extensively.

The latest Public Test Realm update for Overwatch has provided PC players with the chance to try out the new changes to heroes. These include changes to Roadhog’s hook, Ana’s Biotic Grenade, D.Va’s health and damage and so on.

And while there’s been plenty of anger over some of the changes, game director Jeff Kaplan noted on the official forums that not enough players have even tried the new update.

“The sky is not falling. 0.26% of Overwatch players have tested these changes on the PTR. To put it another way, 99.74% of the community hasn’t actually played with any of these changes. The average playtime on the PTR (including sitting in menus etc.) this week is 26 minutes.

“I encourage people to log in and try these changes for a few nights – not one anecdotal match – and see how you feel about them by formulating your own opinion.”

As it stands, if the Symmetra changes are any indication, Blizzard will take some time to fine-tune the latest set of balances before unleashing them on the public. So don’t freak out and stay tuned for more information.
