Overwatch Blizzard World

Overwatch game director Jeff Kaplan announced quite a lot of new content coming for the hero shooter in the next few months. This includes a new map called Blizzard World, which is a theme park with tons of references to Blizzard games; a new hero named Moira, who’s a DPS/healer; and new Blizzard-styled cosmetics that would be obtainable through regular loot boxes in 2018.

While we don’t know exactly when Moira will be available, we do know that Blizzard World will be coming to the Public Test Realm this week. This was confirmed by Jeff Kaplan when he said to VentureBeat that, “The amount of love that the team poured into this — every little detail — I can’t wait for people — they have it here to play on the show floor, but I can’t wait for it to go up on the PTR next week, because then they can just run around the empty map and explore.”

Kaplan also confirmed that the drones and balloons in the sky could be shot. Voice actors for famous characters from other Blizzard games like Deckard Cain (Diablo 3) and The Adjutant (StarCraft) are also contributing for “all these little sound triggers” as Kaplan calls it. For Blizzard fans, especially those who have been with the company for years and years, this is a pretty monumental endeavour.
