Sombra could be debuting soon in Blizzard Entertainment’s Overwatch. The official Twitter account for the game posted an image of a prototype biotic rifle or a “healing” sniper rifle designed by turret man Torbjörn using technology from Mercy’s healing staff. Of course, the conversation between the two heroes suggests that Mercy isn’t exactly one hundred percent on board with this design.

This all feeds into talk of Sombra, a hero that’s been teased in the Overwatch universe and rumoured to be Pharah’s mother Ana Amari, one of the founding members of Overwatch and also a sniper. Blizzard already confirmed that Sombra was real and that there were more hints about her hidden in the game. Is this rifle an indication that she could be just around the corner?

Director Jeff Kaplan did mention that some new heroes were making good progress while others were just prototypes that may never officially release. We’ll find out in due time what the case may be so stay tuned.
