Overwatch Will Receive Subtitle Support in Future

Jeff Kaplan says team is "very passionate' about it.

Blizzard Entertainment’s Overwatch continues to grow beyond the boundaries of its original launch, implementing features and modes like the PvE-based Uprising. However, one forum user looked to the developer to provide subtitles for all voicelines. This was to appeal to the hearing impaired (and given how much Overwatch relies on sound, it’s definitely a game-changer not being able to hear).

Director Jeff Kaplan addressed this concern and stated that, “Uprising is the first event to support subtitles. We now have some of the underlying tech and systems in place to proliferate subtitle support to other parts of the game. The team is very passionate about adding subtitle support.”

While it remains to be seen how this balances out in the gameplay, it’s good on Blizzard for appealing to all types of gamers out there. What are your thoughts on Uprising? Let us know in the comments below and stay tuned for more details.
