Overwatch Winter Wonderland Event Now Live, Brings New Emotes and Snowball Brawl

Symmetra changes now live as well.

Posted By | On 14th, Dec. 2016

Blizzard Entertainment has launched Overwatch’s newest event Winter Wonderland and as patch data-mines and other leaks indicated, it’s a Christmas-oriented event. Check out the trailer below.

As with each event, there are new emotes, highlight intros, skins, sprays and player icons to unlock. These can either be obtained through new Loot Boxes or by unlocking them with in-game currency. Along with two revamped maps – Hanamura and King’s Row – there’s a new brawl on Ecopoint Antarctica focused completely on Mei. It’s a 6v6 snowball fight where each player controls Mei and can only launch one snowball at a time (before refilling them from available snow piles). The addition of Soldier 76’s voice-over is just icing on top.

And if that isn’t enough, then the new Symmetra changes and ability to “Stay With Group” are live.

Winter Wonderland will last until January 2nd so take this opportunity to obtain as many cosmetics as you can (they won’t be available outside of the event). What are your thoughts on the Christmas maps and the new brawl? Let us know in the comments.
