Overwatch’s Orisa Disabled for One Week in Competitive Play

Don't expect to protect anyone just yet.

Overwatch’s Orisa will be available today for players across all platforms. However, if you’re looking to take her into Competitive Play, then you’ll have to wait.

Principal designer Scott Mercer revealed on the official forums that, “When patch 1.9 releases tomorrow, Orisa will not initially be available for Competitive Play. We want to give players some time to learn about and play Orisa before she’s placed into the crucible of Competitive Play.

“She’ll still be immediately available in Quick Play, the Arcade (including custom games with the competitive ruleset), and Play vs. AI.”

It’s not a bad approach and helps to somewhat level the playing field for those who didn’t play her on the PTR versus those who have. How much of an edge will it really give – and how the Season 4 Competitive meta changes – remains to be seen.

What are your thoughts on Orisa finally releasing for Overwatch? Let us know below.
