Overwatch Year of the Dog_Lunar New Year

Blizzard Entertainment’s Overwatch received a big update yesterday which saw the newest seasonal event going live. This year’s Lunar New Year event, titled “Year of the Dog”, brings new skins, a new map for Capture the Flag and some very big changes to CTF as a whole.

The new map is Ayutthaya, set in Thailand, and has been specifically built for Capture the Flag. Changes include flag pickup being instant. The flag can’t be picked up for 5 seconds if you drop it and returning the flag takes 4 seconds (though it no longer stops when taking damage). To help balance the instant flag pickup, there are certain abilities for heroes which result in the flag being dropped. A full list of those, along with CTF changes, can be seen here.

As for new cosmetics, there are 50 new seasonal items to pick up. These include six new Legendary Skins – Red Phoenix (Zhu Que) for Mercy, Black Tortoise (Xuan Wu) for Zarya, White Tiger (Bai Hu) for Genji, Azure Dragon (Qing Long) for Pharah, Black Lily Widowmaker and more. What are your thoughts on the new update? Let us know in the comments.
