Overwatch’s Year of the Dog Event Starts on February 8th

Blizzard wishes fans a "prosperity" for the next Lunar New Year event.

Blizzard Entertainment’s Overwatch will be seeing the return of its Lunar New Year event on February 8th and this year will have an interesting twist. It’s the Year of the Dog and the developer wishes players prosperity in the coming days as per a recent tweet.

Last year’s Lunar New Year event was actually the Year of the Rooster and brought new skins, highlight intros, emotes and sprays to the forefront. Perhaps most interesting was the addition of skins from Journey to the West for Zenyatta, Winston, Reinhardt and Roadhog. What will this year’s “prosperity” bring? Hopefully some new Legendary skins for the likes of Pharah, Symmetra, Sombra and Moira.

There will likely be a new Brawl as well with director Jeff Kaplan recently noting that it will be “pretty significant content that players are going to be very happy with.” Given how last year’s main attraction was Capture the Flag, a disaster of a mode with draws for days, it remains to be seen if that will happen here.
