Roughly a week after releasing its first raid boss in Palworld, Pocketpair appeared during the Triple-i Initiative showcase to tease the next big update. It’s the Arena, where players can battle each other’s Pals in a fight to the figurative death. Thankfully, players won’t have to wait too long, as the Arena will launch this year.

Based on the brief teaser, players can seemingly deploy three Pals on the field, facing off against a single other trainer. While your Pals are battling, you can provide supporting fire. It’s unknown whether taking down the rival trainer will result in a victory, like how the player dying results in lost battles, regardless of how many Pals remain.

Hopefully, we’ll receive more details and a concrete release date sooner than later. Palworld is available for PC, Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S. Check out our review here. A bug with Xbox platforms causes multiplayer save data from older versions to load incorrectly, but the developer is working on a fix. Head here for more details.
