Palworld Developer Says it’s “Overwhelmingly Short of People”

"We are looking for people for all positions, but we are especially looking for planning and engineers," Pocketpair says.

Calling Palworld the surprise hit of the year would be quite the understatement. Even the game’s biggest proponents wouldn’t have predicted that it would go on to see the sort of success it has seen, accruing over 19 million players, selling over 12 million units on Steam, and becoming the biggest third-party launch on Game Pass to date. That surprising success, in fact, has caught developer Pocketpair off-guard to the extent that the studio finds itself severely understaffed for the level of support the game currently needs, not just for maintenance, but also for future content additions.

In a recent post on Twitter, Pocketpair said that it was “overwhelmingly short of people” to work on Palworld, and that it was, as such, looking to recruit people in effectively all positions- though some, as you might expect, are greater priorities.

“At Palworld, we still have a lot to do, but we are overwhelmingly short of people to join us,” the developer wrote. “We are looking for people for all positions, but we are especially looking for planning and engineers!

“We are looking for people with experience in any type of engine, so if you are interested in creating a completely new type of game, please apply!”

Palworld is currently in early access, which, of course, means the game is set to receive significant content and feature additions in the coming months. Pocketpair has confirmed that the game’s roadmap entails new islands and Pals, PvP support, new bosses, new building mechanics, cross-play, and much more.

Palworld is currently available on Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, and PC. Read our review for its early access version through here.
