The Paper Mario series has had its ups and downs with its last few entries, but Nintendo and developers Intelligent Systems will be hoping that the upcoming Paper Mario: The Origami King will deliver the sort of experience series fans have been craving for years. From all that we’ve seen of it so far, things are certainly looking promising, and they continue to do so in a new trailer for the game.

The trailer itself is pretty short at half a minute long, but it gives us various interesting glimpses at the upcoming RPG. Shots of various locations, characters, and combat encounters are shown, and the game’s gorgeous art style is shining through in all of them. Meanwhile, the trailer also promises that Paper Mario: The Origami King is going to be “one of Mario’s funniest adventures yet.” Whether or not it can live up to that promise remains to be seen, but it’s certainly something to look forward to.

Paper Mario: The Origami King is out for the Switch on July 17. The first review for the game was recently published by Famitsu, and initial impressions surely seem positive.
