Path of Exile Synthesis

The next Challenge League for Path of Exile is going live today. In Synthesis, players will meet a new NPC named Cavas and traverse his memories via constructs to piece together his past. Along with new skill gems, skill reworks, and Atlas changes, the League will also come with new Unique items and Divination Cards.

For those waiting with bated breath, there’s still time. According to a recent forum post, patching will start at 9 AM PST. The game realm will be unavailable at this time, so spend that time planning your build. Servers will be back up at 12 PM PST. If the response to Betrayal is any indication, expect a decent-sized queue. The patch will be 3.5 GB on the standalone client and 8.5 GB on Steam.

Path of Exile: Synthesis will also mark a major rebalance for all the spells in the game. Spells like Armageddon Brand, Storm Brand, and Winter Orb are being made slightly less powerful, while others like Storm Burst and Fire Totem (now Holy Fire Totem) are being changed completely. The League will also include new passive tree nodes and abilities like Energy Shield Leech. For more information, head here.
