THE MAIN THEME OF THE STORY IS FREEDOM

With each game in the Persona series, developers Atlus have tried to tackle a single, overarching theme with the story they tell and the characters they tell it through. In Persona 3, the main theme was death, whereas the central focus of Persona 4 was finding your identity and seeking the truth. The main central theme that Atlus are tackling with Persona 5 is that of freedom- freedom from the oppression of the expectations of society and from corruptions in all walks of life. It’s a fascinating topic, and hopefully, Atlus have handled it with care and maturity. Well, hopefully not too much maturity, because what’s Persona without people crashing into the ground face first, right?
