Persona 5 Royal‘s marketing has been focusing on reintroducing us to the game’s original cast as of late, and now its time for Haru. She was a late game addition to the cast, and got shortchanged a bit compared to others in the game. Now, she’s back and ready for more Phantom Thieves action.
The trailer released for her shows some new interactions which weren’t in the original game. One includes an interesting conversation with her father, who plays a minor, but key, role in the late narrative. We get to see her explosive showtime combination attack with Morgana as well.
Haru gets introduced very late in the original game’s narrative, which made it harder to get her social link up, as well as made her overall arc feel rushed. Hopefully the re-release will do something in that regard, at the very least get her in the narrative a little earlier. We’ll just have to wait and see when Persona 5 Royal releases October 31st in Japan (and westerners will have to wait until next year). A live stream focusing on the game is also scheduled for August 2nd, which you can read all about here.
