As long as there aren’t any COVID-19 related delays, we’re about 7-8 months away from when the next generation of consoles launches. We’ve seen the Xbox Series X in the flesh (how about that new logo?) and gotten a lot of fun tech talk to drool over or to fuel stupid fanboy wars. But really, for most people, it’s all about two things: the price (something we still don’t know about for sure), and the games. While we know a few that will come to the Xbox Series X, such as Outriders, Halo Infinite, and Hellblade 2, there’s still not a lot known, even though we’re getting ever closer to its launch. But it seems that could change soon.
Taking to his official Twitter, Head of Xbox Phil Spencer answered a few questions about the system. A lot of it was about reveals and timelines, but he also dropped the line that the next thing to get revealed is the games. He doesn’t get into specifics, but says the wait won’t be too much longer.
In the end, that’s what it’s all about (unless you’re just one of those people who are all about the brands, in which case go with God). While it’s fun to talk and speculate about all these numbers on paper most of us don’t even understand anyway, in the end, we’re ready for the games.
Incidentally, there have been multiple reports of late that have suggested that an Xbox Series X reveal event could be coming as soon as May, while another recent report hinted that we could be seeing some game reveals at that rumoured show.
Reviewed plans yesterday for continued sharing through launch. Team is doing great work and adapting. I've never been more excited about Xbox plans. We've heard you, you want transparency/authenticity. We plan to keep showing that way, next step is not too much of a wait (games)
