Sony has finally revealed the big one: The PlayStation 4 will be launching on November 15th in the United States and on November 29th in Europe. Sony has also revealed that the console has 1 million pre-orders thus far and will be launching in 32 countries worldwide.

Whichever way you look at it, that trumps Microsoft’s Xbox One launch by a mile. While earlier claiming that the console would release in 21 countries at launch, Microsoft later revealed that the Xbox One would be coming out in 13 countries at launch with 8 of them – primarily European countries – seeing it only in early 2014. And let’s not get started on Asian and Japanese releases.

Overall, a pretty good showing from Sony and there’s no denying that the 1 million pre-orders number is a strong show of support for the console. But it is clear now – Sony will be gunning for Microsoft this November. The console war is only just getting started.
