But is it blue velvet?

Though it should have been obvious with all the talk of the Red Line of Death, President of Sony’s Worldwide Studios for SCE Shuhei Yoshida has confirmed that the line running perpendicular to the length of the console is made of light and not paint, with said light changing colours. That would probably explain how talk of the Red Line began in the first place.

With that in mind, if any one has used a Sony product in the past two years – whether it’s the Move controller, the early Sony Xperia smartphones and even the upcoming DualShock 4’s lightbar – the company has been big on using to indicate various states and notifications using different colour lights. Will there be different colours to indicate, say, installation of games or other notifications on the console itself especially with the lightbar on the DualShock 4? We’ll need to wait and see.

The PlayStation 4 launches on November 15th in North America and November 29th in Europe.
