PlayStation All-Stars Island Trailer Released

Your favorite Sony characters on the mobile platform

A trailer for the yesterday-released PlayStation All-Stars Island has hit the web, showing off some of the game play and teasing at some of the game’s franchise-specific in jokes.

PlayStation All-Stars Island is a free-to-play crossover for iOS and Android systems, featuring four Sony franchise favorite characters. Each character will be the protagonist of a different game mode. While each level will be in the from of an endless runner style of game play, the different courses will be specific to the characters running them.

The four characters included are: Nathan Drake from Uncharted, Sack Boy from Little Big Planet, Cole McGrath from infamous, and Kat from Gravity Rush. Nathan Drake will be running through some ancient ruins, Sack Boy mode will include levels loosely resembling those of LittleBigPlanet Karting, and Kat will still have her ability to shift gravity.

Interestingly enough, the game was announced on the same day it was released, allowing gamers to download it for their respective systems immediately. An interesting marketing strategy to be sure, and only time will tell how effective it is.
