PlayStation Plus Benefits Include Better Network, Cross Game Chat

Free but limited editions of full games are just the start.

As revealed already, Sony will be providing a free, full version of DriveClub (with some limitations of course) for PlayStation Plus member. However, Sony Computer Entertainment UK boss Fergal Gara revealed that there will be other benefits to being a PS Plus member, including Cross Game Chat.

Speaking to Official PlayStation Magazine UK, Gara stated that, “I suppose wasn’t delivered upon for PS3. It became technology that would be difficult to place on the architecture we had in place. It was one to fix for PlayStation 4, and it is fixed. It’s there”.

He also revealed that moving to a paid model has allowed Sony to provide “better performance and better reliability” its network. “The social features you’ve seen demonstrated or more of a world-class network”. That “higher performance network” will be another benefit for those who invest in PS Plus.

The PlayStation 4 is currently slated to release this Holiday season for North America and Europe.
