Sony has revealed the 3.00 update for the PlayStation Vita, which adds a ton of new features to the mix including the ability to link your handheld to the upcoming PlayStation 4. Check out the new video Sony has released for the same to learn more.
Some of the new features include Parental Controls, which let you limit the amount of time your child has with the games and software such as GPS and Internet; a new Panoramic Camera mode; an overhaul of the Friends app for transferring content between the Vita and PS3 using Wi-Fi and syncing email from Gmail and Yahoo Mail via Messages; and of course, the PS4 link, which allows the Vita to play PS4 games on its scree.
This is most likely different from Remote Play due to the second screen features it introduces, but you can head over to the PlayStation Blog for more information. The PlayStation 4 launches on November 15th in North America and November 29th in Europe.
