PlayStation VR Pricing Will be Similar to New Gaming Consoles

Sony's Andrew House doesn't provide a specific price though.

PlayStation VR, Sony’s virtual reality solution, could very well be as expensive as new gaming consoles. This is according to CEO Andrew House who talked to Bloomberg at this year’s Tokyo Game Show.

That should be interesting in and of itself, considering that the PS4 retails for $399.99 in the United States and recently received a price cut in Japan. Will consumers be able to afford it and even with ten games launching with PlayStation VR, will it provide enough to do in the long run?

House didn’t provide any real price point so it could very well retail for cheaper. Nonetheless, it remains to be seen how Sony will compete in the VR market, especially with companies like HTC/Valve and Oculus also vying for attention.

What are your thoughts on a price point for PlayStation VR? Should it retail for as much as a new console? Let us know in the comments.
