PlayStation VR2 PC Adapter

Sony has officially announced a PC adapter for PlayStation VR2, launching on August 7th for $59.99/€59.99/£49.99. It will enable the head-mounted display’s usage on PC, allowing players to access “thousands of VR games” on Steam, including Half-Life: Alyx, Fallout VR, War Thunder, and more.

Of course, there are some caveats. A cable compatible with DisplayPort 1.4 will be required, and Windows 10/11 64-bit is mandatory. You’ll also need an Intel Core i5-7600 or AMD Ryzen 3 3100 (ideally Zen 2 or later) and 8 GB or more RAM. An Nvidia GeForce GTX 1650, RTX series GPU (ideally an RTX 3060 or later), AMD Radeon RX 5500XT, Radeon RX 6500XT or later are also recommended.

Bluetooth 4.0 or later is also required, along with a USB Direct connection. Of course, it’s also worth noting that each title has separate requirements, so keep that in mind when playing. Setting it up requires connecting the PSVR2 headset with the adapter and downloading the PlayStation VR2 and SteamVR Apps.

Unfortunately, features like adaptive triggers, eye tracking, haptic feedback, HDR, and more won’t be available on PC. On the bright side, you can still experience foveated rendering, 3D Audio, 4K visuals, finger touch detection, etc., with supporting titles. Stay tuned for more updates en route to the adapter’s launch.
