Pokemon Animated Episodes Coming to iOS

Pokemon is now on iOS. Just not how you'd expect.

Unlike the rest of Nintendo, The Pokemon Company has been increasingly pally with Apple and their various media stores over the last few months. After, for example, bringing over the soundtracks of all modern Pokemon games to the iTunes Store as part of their Pokemon Super Music Collection initiative, they have also now announced a one stop destination on iTunes for all Pokemon content- this includes not just music, but also apps such as Pokedex for iOS, as well as episodes of the Pokemon cartoon.

To celebrate the launch of Pokemon on iTunes, episodes from Pokemon XY (the latest iteration of the anime, based on the hit Nintendo 3DS video games of the same name that were released last year), as well as the complete four part Pokemon Origins special, are now available.

Of course, none of this means that Pokemon games are ever going to come to iOS- with the success of Nintendo handhelds more dependent on the exclusivity of the core Pokemon games now more than ever, that is, in fact, unlikely to ever happen.
