Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl Shaymin

The newly-announced Pokemon Scarlet and Violet are dominating the headlines right now, and even the recently-released Pokemon Legends: Arceus has received new content for players to dive into. Of course, with Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl, we got another major release in the franchise just last November- and that, too, is getting a new content drop… sort of.

At yesterday’s Pokemon Presents broadcast, The Pokemon Company announced that the Gen 4 remakes will be adding the Mythical Pokemon Shaymin to its roster. From now until March 27, you can receive Professor Oak’s letter, which will add Shaymin to your collection of pocket pals. This can only be done once you’ve beaten the Elite 4, entered the Hall of Fame, and received the National Dex from Professor Rowan.

Meanwhile, new details on the aforementioned Pokemon Scarlet and Violet have also been emerging, with developer Game Freak confirming that they will be the series’ first fully seamless open world games– though the National Dex won’t be returning, it seems.
