Pokemon Go Will Be Getting PvP By the End of 2018

Niantic is actively working on PvP, and stated that it is the next thing they want to add to the game.

When Pokemon Go was first announced, there was a lot that was promised that did not make it into the final release of the game. This included features such as trading, battling, and more. While the trading feature was added recently, the battling element is still missing from the game. However, Niantic has now stated that they are working on a PvP mode and that will be added to the game by the end of the year.

Niantic’s head of product marketing in EMEA countries Anne Beuttenmüller said to Polish publication Gram that the team was working on the PvP mode, and that it is the “the next thing” they want to add to the game. As of now, we haven’t received any details regarding how exactly the battling system will work, so we’ll just have to wait for more information.

It has been two years now since the game has been out, so a few more months is maybe not such a long time to wait for the new feature. Pokemon Go is currently available for Android and iOS devices. Recently, we reported on Gen 4 Pokemon possibly being introduced to Pokemon Go. Read more on that here.
