Pokemon GO Will Receive Legendary Pokemon in 2017

When is another matter entirely.

Remember that Articuno that accidentally made its way into player hands last year in Pokemon GO? Though deployed prematurely, developer Niantic is still very much on the Legendary Pokemon hype train.

Speaking to Wired Germany, CEO John Hanke talked about the possibility of Legendaries with, “I can safely say we’ll see more of it this year.”

Since Pokemon GO is composed of two generations currently, you can expect to see the likes of MewTwo, Mew, Ho-Oh, Moltres, Zapados and so on at some point. Of course, there’s no concrete information on when they’ll go live so you’ll have to wait for the time being.

Pokemon GO has been receiving relatively strong support since launching last year. The most recent update brought several Pokemon from Gold and Silver into the field and Niantic is currently working on trading and PvP battles.
