As promised, Nintendo and Game Freak provided new details for Pokemon Sword and Shield’s first expansion, The Isle of Armor. It releases on June 17th for Expansion Pass holders on Nintendo Switch. Check out the latest trailer below which features some of the new areas that will be explored.

The titular Isle of Armor is located just off-shore of the Galar region. Players will encounter a Pokemon trainer with a dojo and become their apprentice, receiving the new Legendary Kubfu. Kubfu can evolve into Urshifu who has two different styles – Single Strike and Rapid Strike – with the ability to Gigantamax. Other Gigantamax Pokemon can be seen below.

Some key differences await those who own either Sword or Shield. If you own the Expansion Pass for Pokemon Sword, then you’ll train alongside Klara who uses Poison-type Pokemon. Pokemon Shield players with the Expansion Pass will fight alongside Avery who uses Psychic-type Pokemon. The Expansion Pass costs $29.99 and also includes access to The Crown Tundra which releases this Fall. Stay tuned for more details in the meantime.
