As announced earlier today, many classic Gen 1 Pokemon would be receiving Gigantamax versions in Pokemon Sword and Shield. Game Freak has since released a new trailer for the same, showcasing Gigantamax versions of Pikachu, Eevee, Meowth, Charizard and Butterfree. Check them out below.

Each Gigantamax version has its own special move – Pikachu’s G-Max Volt Crash can paralyze all opponents while Charizard’s G-Max Wildfire inflicts damage for four turns to non-Fire type Pokemon. Overpowered? Sure but that’s the point and each Pokemon has a rather snazzy Gigantamax design.

Interestingly, special versions of Eevee and Pikachu which can use Gigantamax will be received if you have saves for Pokemon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! and Let’s Go, Eevee! A special Meowth that can use Gigantamax will also be provided as a pre-purchase bonus for those who pick up Pokemon Sword and Shield. Just use the Get via Internet option in the Mystery Gift section from November 15th 2019 to January 15th 2020.

Pokemon Sword and Shield is out on November 15th for Nintendo Switch.
