Pragmata

While it didn’t appear at Gamescom Opening Night Live, Capcom’s Pragmata is playable on the show floor for attendees. GameSpot managed some hands-on time with the demo, revealing the intro cinematic and various mechanics. Check it out below.

It starts with Diana, an android that revives Hugh Williams, whom players will control throughout the adventure. They’re accosted by a hostile robot, which is when hacking and exposing their defenses are taught for the first time. From there, the player learns about dodging, thrusting, and gliding, while gaining new weapons, including the Shockwave Gun.

The demo culminates in a battle with a giant robot, exposing the different icons that must be navigated to expose its weaknesses. As with previous showings, it’s an unorthodox take on puzzle-solving and third-person shooting, but it works surprisingly well.

Pragmata will launch in 2026 for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. A release date has yet to be announced, so stay tuned for more updates.
