Prince of Persia has always been one of Ubisoft’s bigger franchises, with The Sands of Time trilogy helping to revive interest in the platformer while bringing it into a 3D world. However, with ho-hum titles like Forgotten Sands and unorthodox cel-shaded adaptation, there was seemingly little information about the series until a series of concept images had been leaked.

Now, it seems that we’ll be getting some news on the next game after all. NeoGAF recently spotted a post over on the official Prince of Persia Facebook page which stated that fans should “get ready for some news about Prince of Persia starting next week.”

Of course, we have no idea just what the game could be. Perhaps a remake or updated port of previous games? A new game altogether? That game we saw in the concept images that was supposedly not happening but actually is? The choices are endless at this point.

Stay tuned next week to see just what Ubisoft has in store – though at the rate companies are going with their announcements, it could just be another iOS game.
