Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown may not have enjoyed the commercial success upon its release earlier this year that it should have, but Ubisoft’s sidescrolling Metroidvania action-adventure title has enjoyed widespread critical acclaim nonetheless. Now, more people are going to have the chance to dive in and see what the fuss is about.
As previously announced, Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown is out today on Steam. That means the game is also playable on Steam Deck. In addition to the base experience, the game also includes content added with post-launch updates in the form of permadeath and speedrun modes, boss rematch and boss rush modes, and more. A story DLC, Mask of Darkness, is due out next month.

Not only does it capture the biggest strengths of Prince of Persia’s earliest sidescrolling instalments, it also reinvigorates the series in spectacular fashion with its Metroidvania design structure.
