Bandai Namco and Slightly Mad Studios have announced that Project CARS 3 will release on August 28th. The racing sim will be available for Xbox One, PS4 and PC. Considering it was only really announced a few weeks ago, this is quite the turnaround on delivery.

Project CARS 3 makes a number of changes to the game’s progression systems with Career Mode consisting of 10 car classes. You’ll earn XP and Credits, purchasing upgrades, new cars and “personalization options” for one’s avatar. Over 200 cars and more than 140 global tracks are included along with “dynamic all-seasons, all-weather racing”. Multiplayer has also seen some changes with the introduction of Quick Play, Scheduled Event and Custom Lobby modes – you can read more about those here.

For those intimidated by a racing sim, there will be assists scalable for different kinds of skill levels, offering a more welcoming atmosphere for new players. PC players can bask in support for 12K resolution, which was present in previous titles, and “best-in-class VR support.” Time will tell if Slightly Mad Studios decides to bring the game to Xbox Series X and PS5 so stay tuned for more details.
