Riot Games announced all the way back in 2019 that it was developing a fighting game set in the League of Legends universe. At the time, the game was dubbed Project L, and that’s how it’s been continued to be referred to in the years since then. Now, however, Riot Games has formally re-revealed the fighter and given it a new official title in the form of 2XKO.

As a 2v2 tag team fighter, that’s a title that maybe seems a bit too literal – like renaming Call of Duty to Military Gun Shooter or something – but name aside, the fighter is continuing to look promising, from its core 2v2 structure to the gorgeous visual aesthetic, which is on full display in its newest trailer. Check it out below.

Meanwhile, Riot Games has also finally officially announced a release window for the long-in-development title. 2XKO will launch sometime in 2025 for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S. The developer has also confirmed it plans to release playable demos of the game “throughout the year”, starting with Evo Japan in April.
