Project Resistance is the lastest spinoff from the Resident Evil franchise. A closed beta is running now for the game, which is a 4v1 multiplayer focused game where a group must battle the continued meddling of a mastermind who controls the monsters they face. And there’s some familiar music that maybe hints at things to come.
As you can see via Twitter below, players for the beta have discovered that the save room music from Resident Evil 3 pops up. It doesn’t always happen, but when it does it’s pretty distinct, if brief.
What does it mean? Well, it could just be an interesting easter egg, but it could also be more. Considering how successful the remake of Resident Evil 2 was, it seems logical a remake of 3 is coming soon (and there’s been rumors of it for a good while). Some people have also put on their tinfoil hat, thinking Project Resistance is actually a secret multiplayer mode that will be attached to that remake. Only time will tell.
Project Resistance is slated to come out for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC. For a full match, you can go through here to check out how the game plays.
