While the next mainline Resident Evil release is looking to be another remake (this time of Resident Evil 3), it’s not the only new Resident Evil in town. And we’re being literal this time around as the spin-off once dubbed Project Resistance is getting a pretty predictable name change.
The gamstat website, that pulls in when new updates are added to PSN, caught what seemed to be some earlier covers for the survival horror franchise. That’s how we got to see the covers for the upcoming Resident Evil 3 remake, but we also got Project Resistance and it seems it’s getting a name change to Resident Evil Resistance.
It’s a pretty predictable name change and all, but there it is. There was speculation at one point that the game was in some way connected to the upcoming remake of Resident Evil 3, but even if there is at the very least it seems they will be separate releases. The game will release sometime for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.
