With all the updates (and issues) that the PS4 has been facing with its firmware updates, far be it from Sony to not support the PS3 as well. It recently revealed that a new firmware update 4.66 is available for the PS3. This update is mandatory by the way if you have even the slightest inkling of going online with your console.

The update is 44 MB in size so it’s likely to be yet another stability increase. You can download the patch for the console or install it through a USB drive later on depending on your need. We’ll update you on the changes this update introduces as soon as Sony releases the patch notes.

What are your thoughts on the update thus far? Have you noticed any change in performance for your PS3? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below and stay tuned for more information on future updates.
