PS4 5.00 Update Shown Off In New Trailers and videos

Not that there is much to show off, honestly.

The PS4 got its latest firmware update today, update 5.00. Unlike previous full version firmware updates, this one sadly does not actually add many new features or changes to the PS4 OS. What it does bring to the table are smaller refinements- and these smaller refinements are what Sony is highlighting in a series of new videos highlighting its new features.

This includes 1080p and 60fps livestreaming on Twitch, new and revamped notifications, and custom gaming groups. Hey, look, I told you it was nothing special- if you were still expecting something more after all my warnings, that’s on you.

Curiously enough, one feature that isn’t shown off here is the one that’s likely to be the most useful to families- the new handling of family accounts on the system. But oh well. The PS4 firmware update 5.00 is available to download now on all PS4 and PS4 Pro systems. Make sure to check out the new videos for yourself below.
