Sony has been making a number of announcements at its pre-Tokyo Game Show press conference. Along with announcing a price cut for the PS4 in Japan, coming in October, it finally provided a name for Project Morpheus.
Henceforth, the VR headset will be known as PlayStation VR and there will be several different tech demos that TGS attendees can try out from E3 2015 and GDC. These include Summer Lesson and Rigs: Mechanized Combat League.
As for the price cut, the PS4 will retail for 34,980 in Japan from October onwards. This roughly translates to $292/£189, which is a pretty good deal when you consider that the console currently retails for $399 in the United States and £349 in the UK.
Stay tuned for other announcements from Sony at its pre-TGS show and more coverage from TGS 2015 which takes place later this week. Let us know your comments on the Project Morpheus name change and PS4 price cut in the comments below.
