As of today PlayStation 4 has launched in 16 additional countries, bringing their totally global availability up to 48 countries. Sony doesn’t plan to stop there, however. They have every intention of continuing to expland and release in more countries as time goes on.

The full list of new countiries is as follows: Czech Republic, Hungary, Slovakia, Turkey, United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, Qatar, Bahrain, Oman, South Africa, Bolivia, Nicaragua, Paraguay, Uruguay and Venezuela.

Barring a similar plan from the Xbox One, this latest development may seal Sony’s fate as the destined winner of the next gen console race. Availability across the biggest audience possible is a key factor.

All things considered however, given Microsoft’s history of not being out done by Sony, it’s safe to assume we’ll be hearing a similar development from Microsoft in the near future.
