Today was a day for some big news for Sony’s plans on the PlayStation 5, from a general release window to various different hardware features that it will have. But we still have a decent ways to go before we get there, and in the meantime there’s still the PS4. The system just got its latest major firmware update that added some new features. But along with that, another feature has been mysteriously removed.

It seems with the latest update the Facebook integration that was once part of the system has now been removed. No longer can players share videos, screenshots, and trophy information via their Facebook account. It seems that you can no longer even connect your PlayStation and Facebook accounts at all.

In a statement to Kotaku, Facebook said that discussions were in progress, and they hoped that Facebook features would return to the system soon. So it’s not clear what the issue is here, but for Facebook heavy players, you’re out of luck for the foreseeable future on Sony’s system. We’ll keep you updated as more information becomes available.
