As we get closer to the PS5’s launch, it’s becoming more and more of a certainty that more details on the console and its games will be shared not long from now. Several reports have emerged of late that have said just as much, and now, Sony, too, are confirming that (to some extent).
During Sony’s recent corporate strategy meeting, the company’s CEO Kenichiro Yoshida confirmed that Sony is planning on revealing a “compelling lineup” of PS5 games soon (via @Nibellion on Twitter). Of course, Yoshida didn’t go into how soon “soon” will be, or what games (or how many of them) will be revealed, but we’ve now heard from Sony themselves that the time for reveals is almost at hand.
Reportedly, Sony are planning to host a PS5 reveal event in June where they will be showing showing off several first and third party games for the console. The same report also says that this will be followed by a State of Play in August that will feature a mix of current- and next-gen games, and that the PS5’s form factor will also probably have been revealed by then. Read more on that through here.
