Alongside sales numbers for Astro Bot, Sony also announced updated hardware shipments for the PS5 as of September 30th. The console shipped 3.8 million units this quarter (down from 4.9 million year-over-year), bringing its lifetime total to 65.5 million worldwide.

Cumulative software sales for the PS4 and PS5 reached 77.7 million, up 10.1 million from last year in the same quarter. Of that total, 5.3 million sales came from first-party titles. The ratio of full game software digital downloads is 70 percent, up three percent over last year and down 10 percent from the previous fiscal quarter.

Monthly active users of PlayStation Network are holding steady at 116 million. However, the total is up significantly from 107 million in the same quarter last year.

With the PS5 Pro launching yesterday, it should be intriguing to see its impact on Sony’s forecasts for the remaining fiscal year. Check out our feature to learn more about the console, and stay tuned for further updates.
