The next generation of consoles are coming up and we’re in that time when developers are talking around the consoles with praise and hopes for the future. How much of that will end up translating to the final product is anyone’s guess, honestly, but it’s fun to think about. Today it was actually Remedy Entertainment talking up the potential of the PS5 and the amount of details it’ll let developers implement.

In an interview with the Official PlayStation Magazine UK, Lead Programmer Sean Donnelly spoke about the system’s technical abilities, pointing to the SSD drives that everyone is abuzz about. He says that not only will that allow for fast games and less load times, it could also lead to even more details that in a game like their most recent, Control, would bring things up to the next level.

“For something like Control, that could translate to an even deeper destruction system, richer, more detailed worlds, and simple quality-of-life improvements like instant reloading after dying.”

The two systems and their various new tech has been talking points for a lot of people, from the SSD drives that’s apparently going to change the game to the improved processor that will be in both upcoming system. We’ve got about a year to go until we see them on store shelves.
