The PS5 has gotten off to a strong start since its launch in November, and its lineup of exclusive game releases in its first year has been better than what you’d usually expect for a new consoles. Following a launch lineup consisting of the likes of Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales, Demon’s Souls, and Sackboy: A Big Adventure, the console has seen games such as Returnal and Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart in the following months.

Of course, what’s most exciting for PS5 owners is that there’s still so much more coming up. In a recent chat with GamesIndustry (which you can view below), PlayStation CEO Jim Ryan highlighted that lineup of upcoming games, saying that it’s “by far” the best that any PlayStation console has ever had.

“The launch lineup was the best we’ve ever had, and I’d submit the best that any console platform has ever had,” Ryan said (transcribed by Push Square). “The work we’ve done since then [is excellent], with Returnal and Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart, and MLB The Show 21 for the United States, which is a fine game. The pipeline of games that we have coming is just fantastic – it’s by far the strongest that we’ve ever had for any of our consoles. I can’t wait to see these games starting to drop- Horizon Forbidden WestGod of War: Ragnarok, and Gran Turismo 7.”

In addition to the games mentioned by Ryan, the PS5 also has the likes of Marvel’s Wolverine and Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 in the works, while third party exclusives like Forspoken, Final Fantasy 16and Star Wars: The Knights of the Old Republic – Remake are also coming up. Add to all that the unannounced games being worked by several first party studios (and others with exclusive deals), and the lineup does indeed look more than a little healthy.
