Id Software’s Quake Champions was unveiled at E3 2016 and was confirmed to be a PC-exclusive multiplayer shooter that would return to the glory days of arena twitch-shooting. There was a fair bit of skepticism especially with the addition of certain “champions” with their own special abilities.

However, gameplay for the shooter was revealed at QuakeCon and it seems to be embody the same speedy gameplay that Quake was famous for. Weapons like the rocket launcher look great while the level design seems to imbue a healthy verticality while maintaining the gruesomeness of the series. As a whole, the gameplay is fast and furious and we can’t wait to see what else id Software has to showcase with the title.

Quake Champions will enter into closed beta in 2017 and doesn’t currently have a release date. What are your thoughts on the gameplay? Let us know in the comments below and stay tuned for more information.
