People who enjoy QuakeCon, there’s good news for you- the annual from Bethesda and id Software is coming back for its 2022 edition on August 18 and will run till August 20. Unfortunately, you’re not going to be able to attend in-person, since it’s been confirmed as a digital-only show.

It was announced via the official QuakeCon Twitter that the event is to a digital model this year because the company feels that more planning is required to host such an event successfully in-person thanks to uncertainties surrounding COVID, and Bethesda wasn’t confident it’d be able to do it properly this year. The convention, however, is planning to get back to its usual in-person format next year, and plans for the sameare already underway.

For the uninitiated, QuakeCon is the annual convention-cum-showcase hosted by Bethesda, which showcases new and upcoming games made by Bethesda-owned studios. The 2020 QuakeCon event was cancelled due to COVID, while last year’s show was also a virtual event.
