A new leak claims that another AAA game is in the works at Quantic Dream's Paris studio, based on 2013's The Dark Sorcerer tech demo.

Quantic Dream The Dark Sorcerer

Quantic Dream recently announced Star Wars: Eclipsewhich has the potential to be the studio’s biggest game ever, based on the plain and simple fact that it’s a Star Wars project- though it seems that the studio has other irons in the fire as well. Over on Twitter, leaker @AccNgt – who previously correctly leaked information on the aforementioned Star Wars: Eclipse – shared potential details on a second AAA project that is currently in the works.

Allegedly, this second project is in the works at Quantic Dream’s Paris studio, and is going to be a “humor-based’ game (though it’s unclear what exactly that means). The leak claims that the game is going to be based on the “The Dark Sorcerer” tech demo Quantic Dream debuted for the PS4 back at E3 2013 (which you can view below), and will be “more advanced than Star Wars: Eclipse (though again, it’s unclear exactly what that means).

Interestingly, the game is allegedly going to be a cross-gen title and will also launch for PC, though the former is still subject to change. Similar to previous Quantic Dream titles, it will focus on narrative interactivity (whereas leaks have claimed that Eclipse is going to be a full-fledged open world action-adventure game), and will have a non-linear story written by Quantic Dream boss David Cage, set in a medieval fantasy world.

Interestingly, the leak claims that the project’s development team is struggling to recruit developers, similar to what reports have said of Star Wars: Eclipse as well (which has allegedly already run into development troubles)- allegedly due to the controversies Quantic Dream has attracted over the last couple of years due to multiple reports of toxic workplace culture.

This is, of course, an unverified leak, so be sure to treat it as such. That said, Quantic Dream is no stranger to making full games based on ideas stemming from tech demos. Detroit: Become Human, for instance, started life as the 2012 PS3 tech demo “Kara”.
