Quantic Dream may currently have its hands full with the upcoming Beyond: Two Souls, releasing on October 8th in North America and October 11th in Europe, but the developer is plenty busy with its next-generation project which it promises is different from both Beyond and Heavy Rain.

Speaking to Game Informer (transcribed by CVG), director David Cage stated, “We have a small team working on this next-gen project, on the tech, on the concepts and art. It’s very very exciting, something different from Beyond and Heavy Rain; building on the same grounds, but in a very different way.

“People should expect to be surprised again, because this is really what we try to do with each game – not give people what they expect, [but] give them something they want maybe without knowing this is what they want.”

Could it be The Dark Sorcerer, the tech demo which debuted at the PlayStation 4’s initial reveal event or is that the basis for something else entirely different? We’ll find out in coming year.
